Story Images and Links are only visible to Podcasting 2.0 Apps - see all the ...

Today. I want to start off on a nonpolitical note and just really briefly talk about some of the apps that have been coming out, which is pretty cool. So essentially podcasting 2.0 apps that are taking the new features that are part of the new standard and podcasting 2.0 that Adam Curry has been working on and then implementing them into the app. I'm trying to schedule some interviews as well with companies that are making these apps, because I think they need all the promotion. They can get They're on the bleeding edge. They're definitely guys that want to support, I'll let me start off by saying the app that I've probably used the most, the app that I've had installed for years now. And I paid for is overcast. Overcast did a great job of increasing the number of features compared to the standard built in Apple podcast app. And the main things that I liked of course, were the ability to play back at a higher speed, but still with really good fidelity. So overcast did a great job and overcast has implemented some features, but they're really behind the curve, certainly behind the bleeding edge companies right now on what's available with podcasting 2.0 type features. So I will say the thing that overcast does do is it does show you chapters. Now I use Buzzsprout as the hosting company for my podcast. And in fact, there's a link. If you want to start using bus route, there's a link in each episode that I do for it. But Buzzsprout has been also very good about adding in podcasting 2.0 features or making them compatible. So Buzzsprout allows me to create chapters right after uploading the audio file into the Buzzsprout and then listening to that audio file and then just clicking some buttons and uploading images to create the chapters. So the chapters that bus proud creates they are, they show up as chapters as well inside of overcast. But unfortunately that seems to be really the only podcasting 2.0 feature that overcast supports. So it's the ability to see chapters and the way that they're implementing it, I guess, is a little different. If people are using other means of adding chapters, like manually, instead of using a bus sprouts method, then overcast may not even show chapters yeah. At all. And so I've started looking for other apps for, or podcasting that have more features. There was not much available in, on the iPhone, on the iOS. Up until recently when we had a couple of new apps or apps, I guess come out and update feature sets, they're not necessarily brand new apps, they're just apps with more features. So the first one I want to talk about about is called pod verse and I believe the next step sewed or, a previous episode, depending on where you're listening of the podcasting 2.0 podcast. With Dave Jones, Adam Curry we'll have a person from that app on, I think they're a fairly small app in terms of percentage of total app market for podcasting, but they've done a great job of adding more podcasting 2.0 features. So if I'm listening to an episode, I'm there. I've got a full chapters list that shows all of the start, stop times for each chapter. It also grabs the custom images from each chapter because each chapter can have its own image. I use those for story link images. If I'm talking about a particular story and then updates the chapter or updates the image on your screen, I should say. With whatever chapter you're in with whatever image it's set for that chapter, he'd also has the ability to play back the podcast faster, which is something that I typically do. In fact, I recommend by default that this podcast be played back at 1.25 at least for the time being, that's my recommendation. We'll see what it is going forward. I know Adam is a huge objector to changing the speed of playback in his mind. The way that he creates the podcast is the only way it ought to be listened to. I'm on the other side of that argument that I think people are the ones that should be in control of how fast or slow they listen. And I'm sure in fact, some people would love to slow down some people's podcasts or what's his name? The God I'm blanking out on his name. I want to say the little Jewish guy, but hopefully you all know what that means. Oh God. What is his name? Uh, Ben Shapiro. Anyway. with this app, we get more of that type of functionality. The thing that app is missing though, unfortunately is it doesn't have a donate link, I should say now. It's not really an ability. It doesn't have a donate link from each episode. That you're listening to, which is also part of the podcasting 2.0 standard. Typically people will still put a link into the show notes, which the all the apps show the show notes. That's like a standard thing So you can certainly click on the link that way. One of the cool features of podcasting 2.0 is that each chapter not only has its own photo, but it can have its own link. And that link allows you to go to the whatever the person that put the podcast together, put together. And that link is something that does work in a pod verse, So if you listen to one of my older podcasts that has links to stories, or actually even further down after this segment, in this podcast, you will see that there are images if you have the appropriate app that change when I changed topics of conversation. And then if you click or maybe double click on that image, it will pop up a new, a web browser, or maybe it'll ask you, do you want to open up a web browser? And then that web browser should go to the link that I put in that relates to more background information about the story that I'm talking about now. Naturally not everything I talk about has either images or links to a story like this segment that I'm doing right now, talking about the apps. It doesn't have any links cause I'm just rambling off the top of my head here, but But that is a cool feature to be able to simply if you're interested in digging into more depth, just click on the image, that's up on your podcast player and instantly go to whatever the source material was for the podcast or that is currently being talked about. So that's pretty cool. I also put in some VR or some QR codes, I should say, not VR, QR as images at the start and end of the, my podcasts as well. It may not make a whole lot of sense. I don't know. But essentially when you first opened up the podcast, when you first hit the play button and right at the end, as it's wrapping up it'll have the QR code to take you to a donation page. So if you're listening on your iPad, for example, you just pull out your phone, open up the camera app and then. Pointed at the QR code and that'll take you to the donation page as well. But also just clicking on that image will do the same thing. It'll take you to the exact same page. The QR code, I don't know how useful it is. It may not be, I'm just putting in there just as a sort of a standard deal to more than anything. I think, just remind myself that. Yes, I've put in the links for donation into this particular episode. But it is an active QR code. It's not a, it's not a fake QR code. All right. So that is the first app. And then the second app that I want to talk about is called breeze, which if you listen to no agenda, Adam mentioned it briefly and I'm sure there'll be more interviews with these guys. Breeze is it used to be really just a an app for trading. Or exchanging or buying Bitcoin, but really not even Bitcoin per se, it's really SATs. It's not, you're not dealing in full coins. You're dealing in Satoshi's, which are one 10 million they believe, or is it 100 million, but whatever it is, it's a tiny little portion of a Bitcoin because Bitcoins are worth so much these days. So that's how they started. And then they working with podcasting 2.0 and added a podcast player. And the podcast player is pretty darn good. In fact, it's it's something, yeah. That for a feature that is added as an oversight, I think they did a damn good job with it. Yeah. It is a little, it's a little more plain. Then dedicated podcasting apps. Like the one that I just mentioned pod vers. So it is missing some of the podcasting features, but it still has the most relevant, the most important features. Like it does update the images on the screen as chapters scroll through, it does list all the chapters. So it has full support for jumping through the chapters within the podcast. So it is pretty good. What it doesn't have that I've noticed is there's no ability to click on the chapter link and then look at the external content. So that's one of the features I described in pod versus previously, which this app does not, it doesn't let you click on the link and then go to a source material, but what it does have and it's the first app that has this on iOS, for sure. I think it's the second app. Technically, okay. Technically it's the second app that has it, but it really makes it a lot simpler for novices to use is the ability to set out amatic micropayments to go to podcast producers or hosts or whatever you want to call us. Because the app started life as an app that lets you trade Satoshi is back and forth. It still has that ability. That's all still in there. So you can either send money to somebody or receive money from somebody just by trading QR codes between phones. But it is, it took that starting point and an added podcasting to point on top of it and then included the ability to. Pay for the podcast, and this is all voluntary, by the way. You could literally put the payment through zero per minute and then it's totally free, like every other podcasts app. But if you would like to contribute not based on some fixed amount that you remembered to send into a PayPal. Yeah. But you want to literally track contributions or make contributions depending on how many minutes of a particular podcast you listened to. It has that ability. It also has a one-time donation, which is called a boost button which just lets you send a, a one-time chunk of of Satoshi's over presumably a much bigger amount. So if you really liked the particular segment, while you're listening, you can pop up in the app, hit boost and pay some extra to the host for, how great a job they did during that segment. The key to this, and this is a conversation I've had with Adam for a long time. Really is how can we both track how much people are listening? Because generally all we know is not how much people listen, but really all we know is whether people download a podcast or not. There are a lot of podcasts that are being downloaded all the time, but nobody's listening to them simply because the person's subscribed once they may be listened to a few episodes and then they stop listening. But in the background, your phone, your podcast app is still downloading. Every time a new episode comes out. So on the stats, it looks like, Oh, wow, this is a really popular podcast. NPR look, how many people are listening to it. The reality is a lot fewer people actually listen than download and apps like this that have a payment directly tied to listening time. Not only allow podcasters to receive donations in kind by the minute, which is pretty cool, but also provide a much better ability to monitor the actual listening time. So when you watch a YouTube video, what the YouTube video creators and YouTube, themselves mostly care about, this is like of the utmost importance is how many minutes did you spend watching that particular video before going somewhere else? If you're watching the whole video start to finish? That's like a huge win, right? That means that video was interesting enough to hold your attention from the beginning to the end. And that means that YouTube is going to direct more advertisers to that video when podcasting at least in podcasting 2.0 with the model being to not use advertising, but to have direct donations. You can have the similar metric being measured and in terms of actual listening time and then converting the actual listening time in a totally automated fashion. So you just load this thing up with whatever dollar amount you want and then set what your SATs per minute contribution amount is. And again, there could be zero, you could decide to not contribute at all. Or it could be higher than zero. In which case? You're saying I think this podcast is worth, I don't know, a bucket episode, let's say whatever it is. So if the average length of the podcast is two hours, you could do the math, figure it out that comes out to let's say 50 sets per minute or something. And then maybe even less or more, I don't know. It all depends on the value of these things at the time you're listing. But. You can certainly set it to whatever rough dollar amount you want and the app will just contribute. And let's say you got busy for some reason for a couple of weeks and you hardly listened to any podcasts. It's not going to make donations for stuff you didn't listen to because it's tied not to downloads, but to how much you listen. So it's a huge thing. And for podcasts, creators, producers hosts, whatever you're in costs. The real benefit of this is in the multiplication. So if a bunch of people donate$1 per episode and if it's super easy to do because of apps like this, more people will do it well. If more people do it, then even a small amount, like a bucket episode turns out into fairly large amounts, certainly for the larger podcasts there's out there very quickly. I think Adam and John on no agenda talked about how. Their estimation is that roughly 1% of the listening audience currently contributes. I would predict that more than 1% of the listening audience would be contributing if contributing didn't require doing a bunch of action. So right now you have to be in the right mindset while listening to think. Damn, I really, I need to send some money to these guys. I'm going to stop doing whatever I'm doing while I'm listening. And if you're driving, you really can't stop. I'm going to walk over to a web browser. I'm going to open that up, go to PayPal, click on John's link, or just go for memory, punch it in a log in, put in my contribution amount. And I have to decide how well do I feel like guilty about the past year of not contributing or do I not really care about that? Do I just want to give them a little money? Cause I got a tax refund or something. Punch that in make the decisions type in your message. If you want to have a message or some jingles playing, they hit send, and then wait until a few shows later to make sure that they received everything and you were properly credited. So that process, I think, is why there's 1% of the people contributing. If that process was more seamless, if literally, while you're listening to your podcast, you just click on one button or shift a slider over a couple of spaces and it starts making micro contributions. It's a no brainer. I think a lot more people would do it. I really don't think that everybody who could be or would even like to be contributing is currently connected. No, I've talked about contributions to my past podcast a little bit, not a whole lot. Mainly because I haven't asked for them, I haven't had the link up, which is how people have made them, but I really haven't been asking for contributions because I want it to hit a milestone first within the show before suggesting to people that, Hey, this is something that if you enjoy it, it's probably worth a contribution. I have had a few contributions are a command, which has been great. It's basically paid for the last two months of hosting. I'm certainly not getting rich of it based on contributions, but it is cool when the podcast is generating enough support that it is paying for the hosting payments that I would have to be making myself otherwise. But again, with an app like this, that makes it super easy to start contributing. It could mean that a lot more podcasts that are more like mine and that like big, giant humongous ones, like no agenda. Could also start getting small in terms of per listener, but large when aggregated altogether contributions coming in. Now, I will say there is a caveat to this, to both the listener and the host, the caveat being that this is all happening in a currency other than your local currency, whether it's us dollars or anything else. So there is a transition or a an exchange that has to happen from whatever your local currency is like you as dollars in the U S obviously to Satoshis so you can deposit dollars and then you receive Satoshis. But the Satoshis historically, because they're tied to the value of Bitcoin. So whatever a Bitcoin value does is how they will be effected. But they could potentially lose value, is over the last several years, the value of Bitcoin has shot up astronomically. So if anything, if you have bought Satoshis two years ago, the value today would have been way more than double of what it was when you paid for them. But there is certainly always a risk and certainly a short-term risk to where the value of the Satoshis goes down. So you may have an account where you've bought, I don't know, 50 bucks worth of Satoshis. And then the value of those is actually less dollars than what you paid for them. It is possible historically. That's definitely not been the case. It's gone in the opposite direction. So if you spend$20 or$50 today, you're going to have the equivalent of more than that. And it could be way more than that. Within the next few months, or certainly within the next year, if you hold a lot of them in there, my guess is a lot of people will just be putting in some fixed dollar amount per month that they want to allocate to podcasts, to supporting podcast hosts. So let's say you decided I've gotten rid of my cable. I just have digital, like a Netflix, Amazon, whoever else, HBO. Hopefully not Disney. And so I'm going to say that instead of paying a big bill to my cable company, because of that reduction in cost, I'm going to now allocate$30 a month to supporting the podcasts that I enjoy listening to you do a monthly transfer of that$30 into an app like this. And by the way, this is like I said, this is really the second app that does it, the UI on this, and the way to do it is way more easier. I will mention the other app at the end. But the focus is very much on breeze because breeze has made this process be something that even my mother can understand on how to do. And that's important because you want listeners to not have to be dudes named Ben or techies in order to use this. You want all listeners to be able to provide a financial support to podcasts. So you allocate that let's say$30 per month amount. You look, you go through each of the podcasts you've subscribed to you put in the SATs per minute value. Maybe you value some podcasts more than others. Maybe you think they're more densely packed with good stuff. And so for those podcasts, you up the SATs, permanent value a little bit for other podcasts, they might be lower and that's it. And after you've done that once now, you just listened to your podcasts. Like you always been doing. And the app will automatically calculate and allocate the donations on a permanent basis. Let's say you had a light month where you were busy doing other things. You didn't listen to as much stuff as you normally would. Your money's not going to go anywhere. That's like that$30 a month is just the amount that you deposited. It's not a monthly fee. So for the next month you might have 45 in there. That's ready to get allocated. Because you only used 15 of the 30 from the previous month, so you're not going to lose anything. And typically the value of these things will go up. Although, like I said, there is a potential, the value could go down. But let's say it's the opposite. Let's say you've been listening a lot and you run out of SATs for making donations. Two things happen. One, the app will just show you a little message that says, Hey, you're out of SATs. Do you want to re up? And. Load up some more, you can do that and then continue going, or you just ignore that message. And then everything you listened to from that point on will just be set for zero donations per minutes. So until, the next time you put money in until the next month or whatever it is, then it'll start back up and providing donations to podcasts or so I think it's a neat way of doing it. Obviously we'll see more apps and I'm sure this process will improve. It may get to the point where it's completely transparent and may get to the point where the app will automatically ping your your PayPal or some other means of funding. Right now, there is no automated funding it's right now it's all just a, you do it manually. And I liked that because I don't really want something that is donating on my behalf automatically to also automatically on my behalf, be sucking real money into local currency money. Into my account for this. And then I don't think I will say, which is just, I'm sure a question, people that are more into crypto so already have is what I, can I add Satoshi to this without putting in dollars? Yes, you can. I've had some errors happening when I've tried doing that, but I finally figured out how to do it and yes, if you have other wallets that have Satoshis in them, you can create an invoice from this app to yourself, to your other account, and then do a transfer into Toshi from the other account to fund this app. So if you already are a big crypto person and you already have wallets that either have SATs or can translate to SATs then yes, you don't need to fund this with U S dollars or whatever local currency you can absolutely funded from your crypto account as well. So that absolutely does work. In that way as well. That's my little chat, maybe a long chat about cool stuff that is happening with podcasting 2.0. The one thing I didn't mention as I want to make sure I mentioned the other app as well, because technically they were the first ones to implement this type of functionality. That app is called Sphinx S P H I M X and Sphinx, I think started life off as like a social network app. So that's, it's really geared for Shannon, for chatting, for posting images, that kind of stuff. And then you can assign a value in SATs in Satoshi's to either your messages or your image or whatever. And they also added a podcasting element. So you can create a group like I have a ser Jean speaks group inside of Sphinx. And then you can get access to that group by donating some Satoshi's, I think it was 333 Satoshi, so it's it's less it's I think it's less than 50 cents. It's what it comes out to. But anyway, there is a price basically set on everything and you donate to that and then you can post messages in there. And then the money generated from that will go to me. But again, I've said all the amounts for really testing purposes. So they're all very small amounts. But if you are a more advanced crypto person, you want to check out. Thanks, definitely do that. You can listen to the podcast and in that app, just like you can in breeze a lot fewer controls, a lot fewer of other podcasting, 2.0 features implemented. It really podcasting is just an afterthought slap on thing for Spanx, but. But it is in there. And if your goal is to have one app that combines a chat social media type thing, along with podcasts listening, and all of it is based around crypto Sphinx may be a better way for you to go. I would check out both apps. If you're a more advanced person, if you're a less advanced techie person, then I would just stick with pod or I would stick with breeze. And if you don't care about donating, you don't want to support authors or you don't want to deal with all the crypto stuff, then definitely check out and these are all on iOS. And actually, before I finished this topic completely, I probably should also mentioned some Android stuff. Cause not everybody uses iOS, even though they should. So on Android and I do have both here. You can get breeze, which I talked about on iOS and that's probably the best method for. Certainly if you're willing to be one of the early people interested in donating via PSATs or Bitcoin breezes in beta form on Android right now it's actually technically a beta on iOS as well. So to get breeze, I guess I should have mentioned this. You can't really just get it from the Apple app store. You have to go to the breeze website and I'll have a link to it in the show notes. And then from the breeze website, click on either Android or iOS image, whatever one you want to use. And that will take you to the specific beta page that allows you to use these apps. I found the beta works fine but I'm also not holding any more than about 10 bucks in there just in case. Cause it has beta, it could get screwed up and I want to lose more than 10 bucks. But so far so good. Everything has been working fine, even though it is beta. The other apps on Android is that I've been using for podcasting is pod podcast addict. So podcast addict also has some of these podcasting 2.0 features. And let me let me click on a podcast while I'm recording this so I can remember what the, okay. Turn the volume down. There we go. Let me just look at the feature. So yeah. So podcasts addict will also change images. It'll change photos that are tied to each chapter. The thing that podcasts attic has also that let me I'll have to check positive verse. Cause I don't think pod verse does this. But the feature that podcast attic absolutely has is it shows the transcript of the episode and the trim script is a text to speech for me, I guess somebody could do a real transcript where it's human generated. So some of the words that are going to be a little off, right, at least in my podcast, but seeing the transcript means that if you have to mute the podcast just for a second, instead of pausing it, you can actually just watch the screen from the corner of your eye and see what I'm saying. Or if somebody else is saying even while the podcast is playing with zero volume or it's unmute, which is kinda neat. So I don't think that the transcription playback feature is critically important by any means. It's just purely a nice to have, and it is part of the podcasting 2.0 standard. And hopefully it will be a feature that is added to all the apps, including pod verse eventually. But for the time being there, there are fewer apps that support being able to see the the transcript. So this app on Android the let's see what I call it. The podcast addict app it has most of the other features like you can, so it shows images has chapters. You can directly click on an image to go to the link from it. You can click on the donate button. It does not have any of the Bitcoin stuff. So it is purely going to redirect you to PayPal or some other app that the author set up. It's not going to do any kind of donations directly in any Bitcoin breeze on Android. We'll do that. It's essentially identical to the iOS version same type of feature set. And then there are other apps that are constantly being updated on the podcasting 2.0 apps page. And I have a link, I think in every episodes. Now they're starting the last few episodes where I have a direct link to the apps that support podcasting 2.0 features because as I'm starting to use these features myself when I'm creating the podcast, obviously I want to be able to have people listen in podcasts players that have these features, and that includes UC SB. There, there are better apps now for iOS than simply using. Overcast, which is what you and I used to be using. All right. Enough chat about podcasting. Let's move on to other news topics. And we've certainly got a few topics in the news to talk about that's for sure. So let's see why don't we start with UFO's that seems to be a big thing in the news. There seems to be a UFO story coming out every week, if not every day now. And I'm very much wondering if there is a, if there is a directed PR campaign to talk about your photos. And if there is, why is that the case? Because I just don't believe in random things anymore. I've seen a lifetime's worth of people making people, making. Decisions about what they're going to promote, what they're going to talk about based on some very specific criteria, whether it's monetary or whether it's for the good of their clients or whatever it is. So all this UFO talk it's interesting. I'm a scifi guy. I've loved watching all the science fiction movies. And so I certainly enjoy hearing about all the UFO stuff. That is interesting stuff, but is it something new or is it simply a PR campaign to get the conversation going about UFO's? So there was a poll done recently. It was like an anonymous poll, I think 600 votes at this point. And it asked, what do you think is flying undetected over us? Military installations. So it's specifically talking about one of the stories. Which is a UFO's being visible over us military basis. And here are the choices. So 26% say it is 100%. UFO's flying 7% say Jimmy Eagle, 13% say Russia, North Korea or China are creating drones, flying over all of these us installations. 12% think a strong staircase wind from air force one. And this is out of 630 people voting. So you can see where this is going. And then finally, 41% think it's all a trick to boost the defense. But so people have spoken about a third, about 27% actually think it's UFO's about 25% are just trolling. About 13% think it's either Russia, North Korea or China, because these people will clearly put that answer to any question placed in front of them. And the largest single segments I think is probably right on the money, which is that it's a trick to boost the defense budget, because if we need to spend money to investigate things that are by definition, unknown, that's what UFO stands for. And I edified flying object. So it's an unknown thing. That's in the air. If we have to now figure out what those are. Obviously that's going to take a lot of money and the military industrial defense complex is going to have a heyday in the new budget coming in to pay for all this stuff. I'm going to take the cynical side, I guess, and say, yeah it's just PR bullshit to get more money out. I would love for it to be real UFOs. That would be super cool. I don't even care if they're hostile. UFO's I saw Mars attacks. That's a great movie and it's probably more realistic or more likely to have something like Mars attacks than it is to have Vulcans coming down, all friendly and shit and walking out of their spaceships to welcome humanity into the the global Federation wouldn't happen. And yes, I know that the Federation was actually started by humans, blah, blah, blah. But yes, it's it's probably just a money grab is my guess, but it is making a lot of more people talk about aliens than anything else. Next story. So you K U K seems to have on a regular basis. Even with COVID, even with everything else they, I keep having issues with Muslim controlled areas of the UK. And there's a story that surfaced where apparently there was a cartoon of Muhammad and that was somehow part of a school curriculum or something one way or another, a teacher in a school, in a public school. They don't call them public schools in the UK, but essentially what in the U S we would call a public school, had had shown a Mohammed cartoon. And in this class were apparently a more than one Muslim, a number of Muslim students. And when these Muslim students had talked to their parents, All hell broke loose because well, you can't possibly be breaking Muslim law in UK, private school, public schools, I should say. And again, they don't call them public schools there, but so there have been protests in front of the school with large groups of Muslims, some of them wearing masks and some of them not wearing masks, good for the ones, not wearing masks. I'm supportive of that. But the idea that somehow the education curriculum, the schools should be very sensitive to one particular religion and ignoring other religions and their preferences to education. It just seems so wrong to me. It's and I know that the UK does not have the same constitution as the U S with the freedom of religion. I, I understand that's part of the reason that people left Europe in general was because they wanted freedom of religion. They didn't want to have a state religion dictated, but there is a state religion in in the UK. It's not forced on everybody, but there is an official church of England that has been around since was it Henry or which whichever King had so many affairs and got fed up with the Vatican, not allowing him to marry again, that he decided to start his own church, which was how the church of England originally started, although I'm sure I have the name of a King screwed up going off memory. Guy's not looking this shit up. I'm trying to record these podcasts without looking everything up. So anyway, it seems. It seems predictable, but wrong to me to be in an environment where some portion of the population, certainly a minority portion of the population is strongly pushing their religious laws on the population as a whole. Like why would these people simply take their children to be homeschooled or schooled in a religious school where there will be no cartoons of Muhammad ever shown to their children that it's take your pick guys. If you want to fully commit you control what your children are exposed to, then you need to be in control of your children and not just dump them off on the government facility. And that's, it's really the same message that I would give to the, these Muslim protesters and the UK. As well as to any anybody that's objecting to things taught in school, that's a Christian, anybody that's objecting to things done the school that's Jewish. Anyway. It doesn't matter what the religion is. If you don't like what the quote unquote free school is doing for you, then don't send your kid to the free school. You have to decide, which is more important to you, the education and nurturing of your child, or having a free babysitter. And I use air quotes when I say free, because obviously schools, even schools you don't pay for by a bill you're still paying for through property taxes or some other means, the money's coming. If it's coming from the government, then it's coming from you because the government ultimately just taxes you to get whatever money it's going to end up spending on schools. So to me, this seems more like a inconsistent behavior because. And if you're not Muslim and it shouldn't be, maybe if you're not deeply religious Muslim you can say these people shouldn't really care that there's a cartoon of Muhammad. That's probably the side I'm on as well. But I also recognize that beyond that, there's a bigger issue here. And the bigger issue isn't specifically about Mohammed, the bigger issue is does anyone who send their kids to a government run school get to decide what everybody else's children, as well as theirs will be exposed to. And I think the answer there is no. And we have in the United States to some degree, some differences like a school in Alabama will have a different curriculum in the school in California. But, and I'm not trying to trash Alabama for having crappy education. I just picked a Southern state that clearly would have a different health class when it deals with things like abortions. And that's fine to have those differences, but ultimately I think you need to, if you want to have a more rural religious education, then you need to send your children to religious school and, or homeschool them and not be trying to force the free school, the government schools to adapt their curriculum to your particular belief system. So if you don't want your children learning about abortions and how they're perfectly illegal while then don't send your kids to a government run school, because that is the curriculum in governments run schools right now, at least most of them. So anyway, that's my point. We can move on to a much more fun story, which is confirmation that Amazon knows the drivers urinate in bottles and shit in bags. Yes. You heard that correctly. Amazon has publicly denied through their PR, obviously that this is not something they want going out there, that their drivers are worked so hard and pressured to keep delivering with no time to stop, to take care of personal business that the drivers are actually they're deprecating and they're peeing while they're in their vehicles into bottles and bags. This is horrible. I honestly don't want a driver that just took a dump to be hanging me a package or leaving me a package in front of the door because they don't have a fricking sink in their vehicle. People think about that. If somebody is taking a dump in their truck, their hands are full of bacteria and fecal matter, I don't care what they wipe them with. They're not washing their hands. That's for sure. So yeah, makes me not want to order products from Amazon, frankly, that's a horrible thing. If that's what drivers are actually doing, I would think Amazon would do everything in its power to make sure the drivers don't do that. What point is it having somebody be wearing a face mask and then putting their hands that they just wipe their ass with packages that they deliver, that makes no sense at all. But now we've got a leaked memo that shows that Amazon is fully aware that these are in fact practices happening within their company. But since Amazon has been so focused on delivery date times and ensuring that packages arrived quickly, they've been willing to not do anything about it. Other than publicly, of course, denying that this has ever happened in the past. I'm sure this story will keep going. I have not watched a leaked video, but, or I guess it's a memo. So there is no video. So I haven't seen the leak memo. I've just read the story that talks about it, but I'm sure this will get them pick up more steam. Amazon is probably going to make an apology. They'll probably vow to ensure that their drivers have a as government mandated, frankly, I'm not even sure how this happens, but there is a government mandate that says, if you work an eight hour shift or longer, you have to have a minimum of a half hour lunch break and two 15 minute breaks during that time as well. So really. In an eight hour shift, you have to have at least one hour of non-work activity for the person doing the work. Or, eight or more hours, obviously. So this is very strange. And if the drivers are contractors, which I'm sure is going to be Amazon's response they're doing their own thing. They're contractors. We're not responsible for it. Fair enough. But those drivers are breaking the law as well. Those drivers are supposed to have the same government required breaks that any company would have as well. So it's not going to be a good thing. And we'll see whether Amazon can squelch the story or whether this picks up more steam and they have to make apologies and changes in their processes. To address this what else Biden had his first ever press conference and what are we like 65 days, something like that since election. So at this pace, we may have Biden doing four to six con press conferences per year. It would be the least of any president certainly for the last 50 years, potentially less than any president ever. And I guess we'll see how many he actually does. He didn't come off particularly well in the press conference, but also it was all staged. All the questions were pre prerecorded or pre whatever pre provided to the administration. They had pre written responses to everything. I think it, it made it, the administration look even more like what most people are starting to realize, which is that Biden is running on half a brain right now. And this is not to say that he's an idiot. I'm not using that in a joking manner. He is physically running on half a brain, half his brain is not working and that's sad. It's sad for him. This guy should be retired in a rocking chair in his cabin, reading a newspaper and falling asleep, which it said he's probably in his rocking chair, reading a newspaper and falling asleep in the oval office. He should have never been elected. The Democrats should have run somebody else. And even if they were still going to do all the fortification stuff that they're admitting to fine, but at least they should have run somebody else, somebody with a full brain. They didn't. We're stuck with Biden for now. I think I'm still standing by my six months. I gave him six months before retirement, at which point, then Campbell steps in. I still believe that was the plan all along. It appears if that's the plan that Biden's going to try and squeeze out the full six months, unless he literally can't walk not being able to talk doesn't seem to be making a difference cause he just doesn't do press conferences so they can keep them in the white house basement. But I dunno, man, it still feels like having a president with a half operating brain, which is worse for the country than even having some other Democrat president. That's the impression I'm getting pretty bad. And then. We talked about the gun issue previously, there's been one more shooting and I, I almost don't want to say it because of the black humor about it there, or Hey is saying black humor is that racist now? Dark humor. It's definitely a potentially a too soon humor, but it just made me think of that poster and changing the word slightly to say the shootings will continue until the guns are banned. I really do think that there is a plan in place right now. And that plan, whether it's by by focusing on low intelligence individuals and getting the FBI to set them up, whether it is simply through the. The right types of directed propaganda, but I do think it's interesting that we have way more mass shootings during democratic presidential years than we do during Republican years. And it's certainly starting to be the case for Biden, where there's already been two within the first three months of his administration here. I if not in the first two months and a while, thankfully the the first shooter narrative had to get rolled back very quickly, because as you remember, on the last episode, I talked about how the first reports that started coming in about the Colorado shooter, where a middle aged white man, and they had to roll that back. As soon as video of the rest was seen, because this was actually a 20 something year old middle Eastern man, And who was talking about the the West's attack on Islam as a rationale for his actions. So definitely does not fit that same narrative. The Georgia shooting. They're trying to play off as an anti Asian anti anti Asian minority type incident because the shooting took place in a nail salon, frankly. I think that's extremely racist. I think that assuming that is, is just demonstrative of the way that the Democrats feel about Asians. Oh yeah, those are the people that do our nails and hair. They're not really, and somehow their kids end up getting into MIT, but we're going to make sure that fewer of them end up at MIT by putting in. Race-based limits on students coming into MIT, which punishes Asians the most. So it's just really stupid. And the reality is in an interview with the tutor it appears like there was zero Asian motivation here and including the fact that he shot white women as well. It was really more based on a mental illness than anything else. Yeah. Yeah. But we'll see, I really hate for this to be true, but something's telling me it's going to be the case. Yeah. That the shootings will continue until the guns are banned. They're gonna keep doing this back channel motivation of creating hysteria, creating environments that trigger people who are mentally not well. To keep doing this. And it's sad because clearly they're going to do this in order to steamroll the American public into putting up with gun controls that are frankly unconstructive, but much like they saw with COVID. If you frighten people enough, they will be okay with that constitutional mandates. They'll be okay with being forced to put on certain types of clothes, AKA Sharia law, a K having masks on there, on their faces. They'll be okay with shutting down their businesses. They'll be okay with limiting the hours that they're allowed to be indoors or outdoors. And there'll be okay with watching videos of people that disobeyed some of these unconstitutional laws, getting beat having the shit beat out of them by the police. And of course, The police will be more than happy to enforce any of these unconstitutional laws because they don't give a shit either. And that's the real problem is we have the defunded police messaging coming from a far left organizations like BLM, but their message isn't exactly bad. And if you look at police behavior and there are tons of YouTube channels, there's a ton of rumble channels, the document, bad police behavior. This has been a problem in the United States for many years. This is not a problem that was created during the Trump era. This was not a problem that was created during the Bush era. This has literally been a problem for a long time. And I don't know that there's a good solution. I do know one good solution robots. Robots are ultimately the best solution to ensuring that policing is done completely fairly. And with no bias, we really need robot cop. When we have Robocop, then policing brutality will stop until that happens. It's going to continue because the mentality of some of the people, I'm not going to say a hundred percent, but too many, certainly too many people way too high. A percentage of people going into police work, their mentality is a hairlines away from the mentality of criminals. There's literally one little tiny switch that had to get flipped for them to not go to onto a life of crime, but instead for them to go on to a life of being a police officer and these people see being a police officer, not just as a means of earning money, which incidentally police make a generally or six figures in San Francisco, I saw. There are police men making over$300,000 a year with all the overtime they're doing. So it's a very well-paying job. But beyond that for a lot of these people, the bad apples, and again, there's way too many of these bad apples. Part of the attraction for them to being in the police force is the ability to be above the law. They can get away with doing things that they could not get away with. Were they not a policeman? And we have lots and lots of video proof of this. We have tons of videos of police drunk driving, and when they get confronted, the first thing they do is talk about how they're a cop and how they're they shouldn't get a ticket. They shouldn't get tested, they shouldn't have their car towed. Like all these things are, should be dealt with as a police courtesy to them. This is very typical behavior. Again, I'm not saying a hundred percent of the cops. But I am saying a much higher than one or 2%. This is an endemic problem with the police force in America and maybe other countries too. The only ones I really care about is police force in America is there are too many people in that job who are not in it for the good of society. They are in it for the good of themselves. Police corruption is huge problem. And selective enforcement is a huge problem. And I'm not even talking about bribes. I'm just talking about cops, selectively enforcing laws for one person, but not for another person that could be racial motivated, racially motivated, but it doesn't have to be, it could simply be motivated by somebody that knows somebody in front of a friend, somebody that goes to their church, somebody that is that, that gives them free coffee. When they come to that person's store. Th these are all things that would not happen if we have a 100% robotic police force, because we can review the code that robot follows in making its decisions. And we cannot review the code that the human follows in making the decision. So I think a while some people will disagree with me and think that it's just going down a bad path. I think ultimately it's the only solution to completely make police be unbiased is to have the human element be removed from police force. All right, what else we got? It's I'm noticing the time, so I'm not sure that there's going to be a whole lot more time to talk. But I guess what, we'll do one more story. And this is actually funny in a dark way. Apparently somebody noticed that doing a Google translate translation from English into Russian provides curious translation to results. And here is the tests. I'm not sure how they stumbled on it. I'm sure somebody was translating in the article and spoke both languages and then realize, wait a minute, the translation is inaccurate here, but here's the end result that came out. And their example, they're showing a translation from English to Russian of Biden changed for bad Putin, changed for bad Obama, changed for bad, and Trump changed for bad. So for American or three American presidents, one Russian president, the rest of the sentence is exactly the same. The way the translation came out. Is not the same. So I'll read it in Russian. Biden is menial Who true. Starting them. Obama has been able to Trump has meals of who shoe store now. So what that means is Biden changed for the better Putin change for the worse Obama change for the better. And Trump changed for the worse. So it's taking a translation, which is changed for bad or change for the worse in English, every time for all four of them, and somehow magically glitching to have the two Democrat presidents be translated as changed for the better instead of change for the worst, which is the original language. So if somebody is literally translating a news story from, or a book, I guess, or, whatever, they're just writing a letter to their friends. And the phrase came in where they're translating from English that Oh, Biden changed for the worse. It was being changed, translated as Biden changed for the better. That is a lie. They're literally, I don't know what do you call that? That they, it's a free service. Like you're not paying for Google translate, so you can't really go after them on some legal grounds. I don't think but it's hard not to just simply call that a lie. Right? Because when the translation from one language to another, isn't just inaccurate. It is literally the polar opposite of what the phrase says. Isn't that a lie. What other way would you call that? It's since been fixed Google claims, it was a glitch and a D appeared to be fixed now. So if you go and try this yourself, you're not going to get it, but there are screenshots. This was definitely the case I posted on a no agenda, social. If anyone's on there, you can see the screenshots as well. And I'll have a in fact, I'll have a link to the screenshots here, so you can see them if you're using a podcasting 2.0 app as well. And so with that, I'm going to wrap things up. Thanks for listening. Thanks for donating. Thanks for enjoying this podcast and joining my rants. We'll see you next time.
